Why Arsene?

18 APRIL 2009 / FA CUP SEMI FINAL / WEMBLEY / ARSENAL 1 – 2 CHELSEA

It was the biggest night of our season. Our only slim hope of a trophy after four years. you leave our best weapon on the bench and persist with a bunch of jokers till Chelsea put our lights out. then after all that you talk about the state of the Wembley pitch? You had a bad night, we still love you. Be a man Arsene. Admit you fucked up. So we can move on and hope for something to shout about next year. This year is done.

It's all coming together for us now

Another perfect weekend. We win versus what might be the team with the deepest pockets in the land. They don't have anything like captain Fabregas. He got two goals, and good goals, out of a player I don't like seeing in an Arsenal shirt, unless of course, he scores. Adebayor got two, both from inch perfect fabre-balls.

We are now unbeaten in 17 games. That deserves its own paragraph.

Then yet another huge performance saw a depleted United side tear the hearts out of the disparately unlucky Villians. Honestly, if they weren't so close to taking 4th spot from us I'd have been terribly disappointed for Aston Villa. But, with the state of our season, it left me hoping for a United win, and what a unbelievable game it was. Villa led 1-2 with around 10 minutes left, Ronaldo pulled a left foot shot out of nowhere to draw them level. And with injury time looming an unheard of 17 year old Italian, Federico Macheda pulled off a stunning strike to take it all away. United go back to top of the table by a point off Liverpool, but with a game in hand.

Another good weekend

Saturday began with an astounding game in London city where little Fulhum cruised to a 2-0 win over Manchester United, who had Rooney and Scholes sent off. Next, Spurs edged Chelsea 1-0. In the late kick off, Saturday 'Navrouz' night, we played like only The Arsenal can, to thump Newcastle 1-3 at St. James Park.

We were close to magnificent. Nasri had a great game and capped it with the third goal. Bendtner put in another strong performance and has everyone talking about how well he's been doing in recent games. Arsene knew, he always knew, we just don't see it, but he does. We should trust him blind and stop acting like we might know something he doesn't.

Sunday night Liverpool mauled Villa, to go within touching distance of Manchester United, who remain one point ahead with a game in hand. There is 3 points between us and Villa in 5th place now, but we still have the big three to play, and Villa will be closing the season with a much lighter fixture list.

Nevertheless, another great week for us. Walcott who had another injury scare with a swollen knee, should be back for our next game in two weeks (after an international break next weekend). We were awarded a chance to host the one of our greatest ever — Robert Pires — after we drew Villarreal in the Champions League Quarterfinal.

I am smiling a heck of a lot.

Liverpool came back from a goal down at Old Trafford to humiliate Manchester United 1–4, complete a season double over a team that has been strides ahead of the rest in the Premiership this year. That, was only the beginning of a bright, bright sunshiny weekend for Arsenal Football Club.
